Michael Hayden, who bears a distinct resemblance to Elmer Fudd,

is on Anderson Cooper's show right now, is as dumbfounded as everybody else. He's very unhappy about what Trump has done to damage and put himself at odds with the intelligence agencies.

There was an article in which Hayden stated that
...at some point we (IC) may do something unusual to set the record straight....

I wonder what the IC has in mind ......
especially if they are as infuriated as Malcolm Nance seems to think they are........

information on the FISA warrant and perhaps a few salient facts from the active investigation.

If the IC were to do that, then all hell would break lose, and Trumpy would be swallowed into the blistering rages of Beelzebub's bedroom. The release would implicate the Trumpies in collusion with Russian agents. Absolutely.

That's what would "set the record straight."

Hayden knows a lot of people. They share stories.

A lot of folks compare Trumpy to Putin in the sense that Trumpy would presumably love to emulate Putin's rise to extreme wealth and power. But Mr. Hayden draws a strong contrast between the two leaders, perhaps inadvertently. Hayden is a member of the IC and is well informed and smart as a tack. Trumpy is not an ex-CIA chief and knows next to nothing about the IC culture. He's threatened by the IC because he can't control them. He despises that which he can't control. Putin, OTOH, knows everything there is to know about the FSB, which he rules with a ruthless iron fist.

Trumpy's attempt at handling the IC will fail because he hasn't demonstrated behavior that gives him credibility with the IC. Besides, they know he's dangerously crazy and a lawless renegade. (See Rachel's show from this evening.) And the IC has a lot to protect (Since the GOPers are still loving themselves over their election victory and can't hear the freight train coming their way.).

Afterwards, IIRC, he said it would be appropriate to "get behind" the new president, but he seems to have changed his mind now, bigly.
