I posted about the plans for this Rally a week or so ago, details are at the beginning of the article. The excerpt that I am posting is from the end. This is tRumps America.
A High School Rally For Diversity Was Ended By Bomb Threat
According to U.S. News and World Report, Westminster High School has a minority population of only 13%, with the same percentage of students considered economically disadvantaged. The school has a 98% graduation rate and proficiency ratings well above the state level. It is safe to call this school predominantly white and economically affluent.
According to its Board of Elections, the county voted about 75% in favor of Trump, and for Republican candidates for the House and Senate. In short, this is not a liberal population. And yet these students took it upon themselves to speak up and celebrate diversity and inclusion, in a way that the student organizers described was not about Trump or political.
Bravo to these brave students, who are embracing Americas advanced citizenship and celebrating it in our schools. With so much negative news flying around about hate-related violence after Trumps election, much of it happening in and around schools, it is incredibly invigorating that these students have opted to take the high road.
However, we are left asking what would motivate someone to make a bomb threat at that particular school and on that particular day. A bomb threat is not the same as a person driving by waiving a flag. It is an act of faceless violence and domestic terror. And this has no place at all in America, regardless of who is in office.

(100,126 posts)Especially after reading this part:
"However, the countys school board instructed those teachers to take them down on Feb 16, after it determined that they were anti-Trump and violated the school requirements that teachers remain neutral, as explained Assistant Superintendent of Instruction Stephen Johnson."
So the administrators took the originally scheduled event down. And then it was about 45 minutes in when the bomb threat was called. If I were a betting man, I would be willing to bet the principal or someone in the school administration were ordered to call it in just so the event didn't happen on school property. That would be my guess.

(42,641 posts)in our general area, there was a diversity seminar at a local high school. There was much pushback from conservatives, but the School Administration held firm and the seminar was judged a big success.
