Regarding the Wire Tap allegations: Is it possible that some element in the U.S. Government had Russians like Sergey Kislyak under surveillance and that a Russian Agent contacted actors in the Trump Campaign via phone? By which I mean, maybe Russian Agents were being observed and these Russians made contact with the Trump Campaign. Might this explain the Wire Tap allegations?
If so, Trump was not under surveillance, but a Russian that contacted him or his People was. So, there might have been a legitimate investigation that had recorded something out of Trump Tower. I realize this is a remote possibility, but it is something I have not seen mentioned. It is my understanding that our Intelligence Services regularly have Russians under observation.

(538 posts)I am thinking of sending an e-mail or make a phone call to my Congressman about this. I am kind of wondering why no one has really mentioned this sort of possibility in the media or elsewhere. It might explain a lot if it were true.

(55,894 posts)they have to go through a fairly rigorous process (FISA Warrant) to get permission to continue listening, record and store the information.
I did not know that. I thought that if one person (Russian) was listened to, it was legit to record both sides of any phone or electronic communication. Thanks for the info.

(2,857 posts)Louise Mensch (yes, I know she is British) is saying that once an American starts talking to someone who is under a FISA warrant, you do NOT have to stop listening like some are saying. It makes sense to me. Wiki, also not the best source.. says that if information is obtained on a US citizen committing a crime, they have to get a warrant within 72 hours to keep the info longer than that.

(47,209 posts)Campaign and I'm guessing they might have gotten FISAs on some Americans working w Trump from that... but I don't know why Trump thinks it was his phone and not his associates.
