We don't get much by way of traffic out here in the boonies so I was immensely surprised when I answered the doorbell yesterday to find the UPS man and to be presented with an envelope from Citibank. Our mortgage is held through Citimortgage after being sold several times over the years to various financial institutions. I wondered how many others were sent similar missives in this manner. We don't plan to refinance now with having a lot going on but, if we were, would chose some other institution.
Anyway, the peculiarity of the delivery made me wonder how desperate Citibank is for business these days.

(12,723 posts)does NOT mean that I can stop paying them.
Since I am not behind on my payments I must assume that these WISE money managers sent these notices to ALL their customers. At some significant cost I would wager.
And lest you think I am some juicy prize that must be well maintained my house payment is $100.00.

(16,334 posts)seems like every other day I am getting AN URGENT MESSAGE ABOUT MY MORTGAGE! Sometimes they are disguised to look like checks and some have had full sets of documents enclosed. They are desperate. I am not getting anything from the present company however. They have stopped all portions of the financing and are simply servicing the account.
