Responding to Public Requests is a Lost Art
Not too long ago, I got sent on an errand to buy a bottle of wine and some plastic glasses. We were at a place and had ordered pizza for a few people, and needed some wine.
So, I drove to a local supermarket that has a separate wine and liquor store. (Here in Minnesota, we're not allowed to buy alcohol beverages in supermarkets.) I found the wine, OK, but couldn't find any plastic cups or glasses. So, I went to the register and inquired about where they might be.
"Yeah, a lot of people have asked about that. We don't have any in the store. You can get them next door in the supermarket."
I don't know, but I think if I had a store and had heard a lot of requests from customers for plastic glasses, I'd get some in there, even if I had to go next door and buy some at retail prices. Doesn't that make sense? But that store and our current government seem to have the same problem. They aren't paying any attention to what their customers seem to want.
