Henderson woman accused of selling do-it-yourself Botox
Federal prosecutors on Thursday announced a 25-count indictment against a Henderson woman accused of selling do-it-yourself Botox.
Kelly Schaible, 55, owned several beauty product websites, through which she is accused of selling cheaper, non-FDA approved foreign versions of the prescription drug, Botox, and the prescription device, Juvederm.
Both Botox and Juvederm, which is injectable, are expensive cosmetics used to treat facial wrinkles. They both are closely regulated by the Food and Drug Administration.
According to the indictment, which a federal grand jury returned last month, Schaible purchased the wrinkle reduction products from Chinese distributors and illegally imported them into the United States. Authorities allege the scheme started in 2009 and continued through 2014.

(11,649 posts)1. you get what you pay for. i'm someone
who pays for botox and facial fillers. they are expensive but worth it.
that being said, if done by the wrong person -- even a doctor can screw up your face. it takes specialized training and experience to do it right. many injectors do their own.

Her boyfriend/hubby is going to the Crowbar Hotel as well. Supposed to be more people under investigation in this deal. Fake pharma is huge in the Vegas Valley, our Regulations are for the most part, well there aren't any. With a Democratic control of the Legislature, hopefully this changes.
