We're facing the biggest threat to America in our lifetimes.

The threat is the "presidency" of Donald Trump.

The Republican Party is aiding and abetting this threat.

The Democrats in the house and senate don't have the votes to stop it.

We have seen the damage that Trump has already done, and the totally insane, cruel, sadistic "health care plan" the GOP is ready to roll out. And, of course, the numb nut in the White House will sign whatever horror they put in front of him.

And this doesn't even start to cover the countless issues/decisions which the POTUS must deal with every minute of every day.

So here's my question? What can we do to stop this madness?

And for anyone who missed it, let me be more blunt. What can we do to stop this madman in the Oval Office, along with his puppet master, Stephen Bannon?

We must not allow them to dismantle our country.

Suggestions?

...by Russia*, Bannon*, Miller* and various other NEFARIOUS actors. We are all part of some big, evil experiment to see just how badly the United States and it's government CAN BE FUCKED UP. And unfortunately, the vast majority of Congressional Republicans seem to be MORE THAN CONTENT to be riding that TRAITOROUS train right to the end of the line. I am absolutely fucking amazed --and NOT in a good way-- at the feckless, reckless, downright callous and cruel actions of the tRump* administration and it's Republican Congressional ENABLERS AND ACCOMPLICES.

4. The necessary steps as I see them:
Fri Mar 10, 2017, 12:27 PM
Mar 2017

1: Fully expose Russian influence on the election and the Trump administration.
2: Dismantle Russian channels of influence, preferably without causing a nuclear war.
3a: Impeach Trump.
3b: At the same time, charge senior members of the administration with obstruction of Justice.
4. Form a new government somehow or other (its makeup depends largely on who gets charged in 3b)

2, 3a and 3b probably need to happen simultaneously.

This is different.

Who are you going to fight? Neighbors? Acquaintances? Family members? Some vague "thems?"

There are no clear "battle lines." All that exists right now is chaos. And those who rule us know that, benefit from it, and love it.

So we get 3 million to show up at rallies all over the country, they get less than a couple hundred at rallies all over the country, and somehow these obnoxious assholes think they get more of a say in our government than we do. How we need to fight is to get our people mobilized and out to the polls and into office at every level the way they did. Only then can we defeat the beast.

and one of the things I learned is that "numbers don't matter."

Uncounted millions of Europeans, the majority, were against Hitler, but it didn't matter.

Most North Koreans hate their incredibly demented "leader." So what?

Everyone in the Ukraine hates Vlad. And they can't do shit about it.

Most Americans voted against Trump/Bannon. So what?

"More of us than there are of them"? Sorry, but that's meaningless. They control all the levers of power. We (the Democratic Party) control none.

So those in control, those without conscience or any sense of social responsibility are now in charge. You want to openly fight them? That's suicide. You want to march in the streets? Nothing wrong with that if you're ready to get your head cracked (like Congressman John Lewis).

I suppose what I'm getting at here is, "How do we fight them?" And as of this moment, I don't have a fucking clue.

Any and all suggestions are welcome.

Fortunately, most of us already are taking peaceful actions in whatever way we as individuals can. That's about all we can do ... persistently resist, protest, be vocal, recruit others and hope. ........

We are confronted and dealing with genuine evil. My greatest fear is that we are careening toward WWIII or worse, an unpeaceful resistance here in our own country. Duty may call. Scary.

One is the republican party & they won't. The other two are the IC & the military & he's pissed both of them off.

My two closest friends both vote but aren't political. Throughout last year they assured me Trump wouldn't make it through the primaries. Then they assured me he wouldn't win the general. Now they assure me that the dems will take care of it. I asked them how? They have no power to do anything. Even on this site you read that our democracy is stronger than Trump & will survive. I really worry at this attitude that it can't happen here, because it's happening before our very eyes.

different than what they've being doing after all of them sign their oath to Grover Norquist and promising to shrink Government to the size it can drowned in the bathtub?

Their goal has been to kill off Government and leave a shell they can use to enable billionaires, protect their foreign interest abroad and siphon money off those of us on the bottom.

The POTUS can declare martial law and "temporarily cancel" elections.

Who's going to stop him? You? Me? The Democratic Party? And what do we d about it?

Lincoln declared martial law during the Civil War. So a president doing so is not unprecedented.

If Trump/Bannon were to do this, we'd be totally helpless and fucked beyond belief.

So I once again return to my original question. What do we about it?

On edit: Let me add to this. Why/how can a president declare martial law? Take your pick. "National security." "Secret intelligence that can't be made public." "Another 'plot' from Hillary and our enemies who back her." "LGBT people who are raping children and planning to make it acceptable everywhere." "The Democratic Party which is plotting a 'secret takeover' and must be destroyed."

Once the person in power proclaim skunks don't stink, skunks will cease to stink.

And anyone who believes, beyond a doubt, that an election will take place in 2018 is indulging in wishful thinking.

Obviously, I'm just playing "what if" here. But what if I'm right?
