This is SO typical Trump....crony-ism even for people he barely knew...

Sid Bowdidge had received a nameplate and taken up residence this week in the directors office of the agencys Office of Technology Transitions, a career DOE employee said, but it was not clear precisely when he started or what his job would be. OTT specializes in shepherding research developed at the national labs into the private sector, an area in which Bowdidge didn't seem to have any experience.
Before joining DOE, Bowdidge worked for the Trump campaign, according to Federal Election Commission records. An August 2015 NBC News report quoted Bowdidge attending a debate watch party in Trumps New Hampshire campaign office, describing him as a massage therapist from Bedford.
Snip......
DOE said Friday that Bowdidge is not with the agency anymore. Buzzfeed first reported the news. Greentech Media reported earlier in the day on his social media history and apparent lack of qualifications.

(17,862 posts)companies with wildly different products. The fact that a man without any experience was put in this role is so mind boggling it defies description. This job should be filled by someone with something like an engineering degree and industry experience.
A friend of mine has a job similar to this for a public university. He hated both Clinton and Trump in the last election. Got to ask him about this one. There is a difference.
You have to wonder how many more of these are out there. Even without the Tweet concern which is what brought this to light, this is an important job that should be taken seriously. It is not a sinecure.

The goal is to destroy governmental agencies from within so that they can be defunded by congress (for good reason). This person, while being qualified for the task was just too egregious.
