Another shiny object?

One thing we have learned about Donald Trump is that he is very good at diversion and distraction.

Last week, when the story got too hot about "Russian connections", Trump started the rumor that Obama wire-tapped his phones in Trump Tower. Almost immediately, he was able to change the subject. He is very good at this.

Many are asking if these tax returns are not just another "shiny object"? Two pages of a 1040 form are not a lot of evidence to pursue, but it could point to a much bigger story? Why did "someone" send the tax returns to David Cay Johnston?

It is only natural to be very skeptical about this story. Both Johnston and Maddow checked with the White House to see if they were "real". There was no disavowal of them not being "real". They responded as if they were real. Which, contrary to most of their disavowals of the past, they would not have admitted they were real if they were actually real. That's just the way they roll.

But it is a huge distraction. His base will need no more proof than the tax forms to show that Donald Trump paid more than 20% of his income in taxes and that he said he would pay the bare minimum required by law. So, Donald will be embraced by his supporters.

Next Monday is going to be a big day. That is when Donald is supposed to reach a deadline to prove his wire-tapping charges against Barack Obama. That is also the day the investigation is supposed to begin in the Russian interference in our elections. Also, that is the day that the Gorsuch hearings are scheduled to begin. There is a lot going on. What a perfect time to slip a deal thru with the Chinese, if you are Jared Kushner?

But, as we know from his past, Donald is only concerned about issues that might harm Donald. All the shiny objects are for that purpose. If he did indeed engineer the sending of the tax returns to Johnston, it may not work out the way he plans? When first we practice t deceive...

With details of business transactions, etc. If he only received the two pages, I think they were probably sent by "John Barron"?
