(5,722 posts)Regardless of the cheering that is supposed to soothe his thin skin, five minutes after Trump leaves, he will be deeply depressed again.

(5,403 posts)The stars in the center of the field represent the three grand divisions of the state: West, Middle, and East Tennessee.

(67,441 posts)I'm from TN (don't live there anymore, I'm in a blue state now) and think the state flag is beautiful. It's my favorite state flag.
It follows the theme of the US flag, red, white and blue; with stars and stripes. And I like the symbolism. Three stars for the three sections of the state, east, middle and west; all housed within a circle representing their unity. I was always told the blue stripe represents the smokey mountains, but according to Wikipedia (which we know is never wrong) it was just a design element.
Your equating the state flag to a klan banner is offensive.
I am from Texas and I despise and am ashamed of my state's politics. But I love Texas. I love the Texas flag. My state's politics can be questioned, but do not disparage Texas. Texas politics? I hate it too.

(16,875 posts)Our state flag is representative of the state...not the klan or the confederacy. As others pointed out, the tri-star represents the three grand divisions of the state.

(12,221 posts)there are always so many in attendance that are standing and looking around at the others in the crowd.
Looking for someone to beat up?
Paranoid, and looking for someone who doesn't belong there?
I don't know.
Maybe they're just bored.

(9,865 posts)...the crowd sizes from Nashville. Various outlets report that there were 2,500 protesters but nowhere can I find a count for the pro-DT rally.
The pro's are described as "excited". Pictures of long lines are shown but of course, this could easily be the protester's line.
I want him to relive the inauguration "crowd trauma" he went through.
Anyone have any actual numbers?

(53,339 posts)They do say the auditorium capacity is less than 10,000, there were long lines for Trump, and many left after waiting hours in line due to slow admissions.
Confusion, security cause long lines at Trump rally

(9,865 posts).....link to is discouraging. Seems like the empty seats were more because of security concerns rather than lack of support. The line was a mile long??? People waited for hours?
Seems it would have filled if people had been allowed to file in without police delays.
So both the picture and the headline of this post, though well-meaning, seem misinformed.
