Trump will tweet that there was a "BIG / HUGE" line of people around the building...twice...outside still waiting to get in.

Still amazed at the complete suspension of morals and/or values those that voted for him did in order to vote for him.

Confusion, security cause long lines at Trump rally

http://www.tennessean.com/story/news/2017/03/15/stadium-half-full-30-minutes-before-trump-rally/99223766/

Half an hour before President Donald Trump was set to speak at his Nashville rally at Municipal Auditorium, the second tier of the stadium was all but empty.

Doors for the rally opened at 3:30 p.m. and the earliest supporters lined up outside the auditorium around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, with thousands of people braving the cold throughout the day. Even after the auditorium started letting fans in, lines for the rally still snaked around the stadium minutes before Trump was originally scheduled to deliver his remarks.

Musical acts and big name speakers like U.S. Senator Bob Corker stalled for time to allow the upper tier seats to fill before the president delivers his speech. But the show had to go on, the campaign only had the auditorium booked through 9.

Trump took to the stage and acknowledged the supporters still trickling in around him and the hundreds of people still waiting outside.

"So, we're just going to let the other folk come in, fill it up, this is some crowd you should see what's outside. Unbelievable." Trump said when he began his speech.

Security delays might have caused a backlog of fans as they went through the screening process.

As of 6 p.m., people were still filtering in and the line to the door stretched back several blocks. Some fans left disheartened because they ended up standing in lines for hours that ultimately led nowhere.

Todd Pembroke, 39, of Nashville is a Trump supporter. He arrived at the auditorium around 5:00 p.m. to attend the rally but ultimately decided to not wait in the mile long line.

"From what I noticed everyone wanted to come out and show support, but because the line was so long, I decided to go have a drink instead," he said.

Even after the relatively short speech concluded, there were still long lines of supporters waiting for a chance to enter the stadium. After waiting for hours, they were still left in the cold when Trump sped off to Air Force One.

Municipal Auditorium has a capacity of nearly 10,000.

we do ourselves no favors by demonstrably misreporting truth.

if the place was not full due to security, and our side makes a big deal about the emptiness, then pictures emerge of YUGE crowds outside ... we look like 'fake news'.

was anyone from DU 'there', perchance?

If the 'fake news' is being too mean to him etc...
Get a rush from thousands of adoring fans. but I suspect his crowds will get smaller and smaller until it is embarrassing to the point that he will be forced to stop doing it.

THAT SAID:

I think its a great idea for sitting President to hold these kinds of rallies. Not as often as Dolt 45, but I see nothing wrong with a President going out and talking directly to the people. I guess what I am saying is that I really wish Obama had done that, because he is such a gifted orator. And he would have been able to promote his ideas and those of Democrats directly, and in a longer format. To be able to explain how they are helping people. And also to tell how Republicans are actually their enemy. MSM would be forced to cover it, as they are with this atrocity.

He came to my state shortly after a state of the union speech. Lines forever and the place was packed. Everyone in a good mood and so happy to see him. Do he did do them sometimes. We know the crowds at the rallies for the current resident of the White House are angry....and most likely 99% white.

Peace

we had eight years of relative peace. At least we knew an adult was in charge and we could sleep calmly at night. But yeah, more than that, it was an optimism in spite of troubles at home and abroad. Not pessimism because of troubles at home and abroad.

Even watching the two final conventions. One was so uplifting and even promoting going high when they went low. The other convention was full of hatred and violence and pessimism. I still can't believe so many voters chose such a depressing angry direction for the country, especially after Obama who shied away from drama almost to a fault, who was the consummate gentleman and good natured family man.

....Other outlets in Nashville describe lines that waited 3 hours to get in and that stretched for a mile. The half empty auditorium is attributed to super scrupulous security checks preventing people from entering as usual. Don't know if that's a RW story or for real.

2,500 protesters though.

Just don't want to feel a relief that's not based on what really happened in Nashville today.

I hear way too much of that. With all that's going on, when someone says something like, it will all work out for good, I think that they have lost touch.

I want the unvarnished truth, good or bad. We have to start with that. We can have humor, TG, but let's get the facts straight. Otherwise, we will never untangle this mess or be able to stop it.
