45's failure to be ... a GOOD HUMAN BEING

45 met with Angela Merkel today. He refused to shake hands with her during the extremely awkward, brief photo session shown below. He just failed the test, on our National stage, of being an acceptable human being.

Politics aside for a moment, I was never, ever interested in 45 ... because it was stunningly clear from ANY cursory investigation of his life, business, and basic behaviors that he was a fundamentally BAD HUMAN BEING. The kind of person I would not trust to feed my cat.

So of COURSE he was unacceptable as President. I didn't even have to reach for political issues. He failed the test of leadership at a more fundamental level.

That alone makes it hard for me to fathom why anyone could actually go the next step and vote for him.

Mulvaney jumped on that train yesterday with his appalling performance trying to defend cutting Meals on Wheels, and other humanitatian services for suffering Americans. Josh Marshall nailed this point in two tweets:

EXACTLY. "Bad People."

There are, sadly, many more "bad people" on the Trump Train, we all know their names here on DU -- and they truly ARE fundamentally deplorable human beings.

I don't usually talk this way about people. It is my daily, normal life work to do just the opposite. But I have never, in my 60 years, seen a collection of spiteful, hateful, cruel, selfish people like this in US political life. I know they are out there in life, but they rarely have this kind of platform upon which to display their lack of fitness to share breath with the rest of us.

As my long-departed grandmother would have said, "God help us all."

(Guess which one of them is TRYING to at least "be professional ...?"

as he is in print and on television.

An oddity that has to be seen to be believed.

Something so strange you have to gaze upon it to believe it exist.

Travel across the pond to rubberneck at the horrific wreck that is Trump.

Yes, people of the world. He's real. Unfortunately.
