Time to say to the Republicans. " Okay Republicans, have you had enough of Trump yet? Are you ready to stand up for your country that you claim to love so much? Are you principled enough to save us from this incompetent, corrupt, mendacious madman. Only you have the necessary power right now."
Think of it strategically, dear Republican friend.
If you impeach and remove him, you can sell yourselves as politicians of principle and courage who finally put country ahead of party. That will be a lie, of course, since you and I know you care for nothing but your own power.
But it will be a useful cover.
Your real motive will be to substitute Pence for Trump. Pence is one of you. Tried and true. He'll sign your bills and do your bidding willfully. He won't even make you kiss his ... er ... ring in the bargain.
So, really, what do you have to lose? Impeach Trump now, quick and clean.
Do it now, before summer comes, and in two years, by the time of the midterm elections, Trump will be a distant memory, rotting somewhere in Russian gulag for letting Putin down so, after all that was invested in him.
With Trump hounded out of office, the depth of his depravity, corruption and madness fully revealed, nobody will blame you, not in the slightest. And, remember, you'll still have your man Pence.
Even we lefties will applaud you -- at least for awhile.
And remember, you still get to have President Pence.
You know you want that. You know you can't stand him either. You know he's going bring not just the country down but your beloved party down too.
So go ahead. Impeach him! Then remove him from office. It'll feel good. You know it will. You know you want to do it. Give in to your inner ninja, turn it away from the poor and grandma for a minute and unleash it on Trump.
