Trump's budget is intended as revenge as much as an actual financial proposal.

I believe he and his minions concocted a budget that cuts virtually all social programs to the bone was meant as a big Fuck You to all the Democrats and liberals who didn't vote for him just in order to upset and infuriate us. It was his way of reminding the Clinton voters that he won and he's the boss and he can take away everything that we value, just because he can. Meals on Wheels? School lunches? Winter heating assistance for the poor? Funds for art and music and PBS? He's telling us he can take those things away just because we like them and think they are socially useful, and we deserve to lose them because we didn't vote for him. He's like the abusive parent who takes away his kid's favorite toy not just because he wants the kid to know who's boss, but because he likes seeing the kid cry.

Trump probably hasn't figured out that a president's budget usually doesn't go very far, but even if he has I'm sure he's enjoying the consternation. I'm convinced that his budget is as much the product of his sociopathy as of the usual GOP small government dogma.

This is the shit they talk about all the time - it sums up Gingrich and the Heritage Foundation and it suits Trump's desire for revenge.

Fuck art, Fuck healthcare, Fuck feeding the sick and the poor, Fuck humanity. Let's make America great again.

But more of those assholes who didn't vote for him get hurt. So it's OK. Think of it as his way of admitting he lost the popular vote.

and giving the GOP Congress a way to distance themselves from their incompetent president. If their budget is only minimally less cruel they come off as heroes.

Although he is mean-spirited and vengeful enough, he's not smart enough to concoct such a plan. I think he simply doesn't give a hoot about anyone else. In his and Republican eyes, people are either profit centers or profit drains. Children, seniors, and the poor are profit drains. So why spend precious money on us, when he could buy shiney new tanks and fighter jets and upgrade our nuclear arsenal and build the greatest most beautiful wall to memorialize his name and legacy? Nothing says strength like more military, more nuclear submarines to fight and defeat ISIS in the Sahara desert.

Trump is so stupid that he cannot see what a big turn-off his budget is to working people with kitchen table worries about feeding and housing their families.

who served under Bush and Reagan said it was vindictive. He said they would get these budgets rom the Heritage Foundation but dismissed them. (MSNBC)
