Cruz: GOP 3-Bucket Plan Ain't Gonna Happen

Ted Cruz and I agree on almost nothing. But earlier today I posted that their Health Care Plan amounted to:

Step 1. Throw people off insurance
Step 2/3. Figure out how NOT to throw them off

Or, if you are smart ... skip Step 1

Or .... we should accept that Repubs are all just cons.

Apparently, Ted Cruz agrees.

Cruz: GOP's 'Three-Bucket' Repeal And Replace Plan 'Ain't Gonna Happen'

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) said on Sunday that House Republicans' "three-bucket solution" to repealing and replacing the Affordable Care Act "ain't gonna happen."

"The President and the House Speaker say that's going to happen, it's going to be a two-step process," CBS' John Dickerson began. "You're chuckling."

"That ain't gonna happen," Cruz said. "It's their so-called three-bucket solution, which is all the good stuff is in bucket three."

He said that "bucket three" would take "eight Democrats" to pass.

"Right now, Senate Democrats are opposing everything. You can't get eight Senate Democrats to agree on saying good morning," Cruz said. "I've called bucket three the sucker's bucket, and what I have been urging the President and the administration and leaders in both houses, take everything in bucket three, put it in bucket one."

And Tom Cotton, who I normally despise, has been saying for several days that the 3 buckets are a GOP con ... and HE is GOP!

On Tuesday, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) also threw cold water on remarks from top Republicans that the repeal bill is just one of three phases in their plan.

"There is no three-phase process. There is no three-step plan," he said. "That is just political talk. It’s just politicians engaging in spin."

Rep. Mark Meadows and Sens. Ted Cruz and Mike Lee, among congressional Republicans skeptical about the GOP’s ObamaCare replacement plan, met this weekend with key figures in President Trump’s effort to pass and sign the legislation.

They met Saturday at Trump’s south Florida club, Mar-a-Lago, with White House strategist Steven Bannon and other administration staffers, sources told Fox News on Sunday.

Did we pay for it?? - Of course we did....we will now be divided into winners, and losers - those who can afford healthcare, and those who can't..Meadows is needed, as he is the head of the snake of the so-called Freedom caucus.. I am convinced they balk just to get pay for play..

I sincerely hope not! Collecting tax money at his business when he CHOOSES to retreat there each weekend I see as conflict of interest. Big difference between "vacation" and choosing consecutive weekend retreats, albeit some work is done, he's also golfing (retreating). Yet he stated with much fanfare he had ensured separation between his federal duties and his businesses. He also stated clearly he'd "rarely leave the white house or play golf" since it was such a special place and he'd have so much important work to do were he elected. L.I.A.R. He chooses to retreat and therefore I feel he needs pay for his inclusive travel expenses outside his security.

Many citizens accept welfare/SNAP (food assistance)/medicaid with heavy hearts as a last resort for survival. Now we've a sitting president and elected officials who've no compunction accepting additional tax dollars to assist themselves in luxury items (consecutive weekend retreats, guests). Yet, also want to cut programs for those who need assistance to remain alive. They stated elimination of last option for survival programs as "misused" and "dependency on tax dollars"....guess they know from personal experience.

Republicans would've changed that federal "perk" had President Obama done such. In fact, they constantly whined about President Obama's vacations, yet not a peep about the vast cost increase burden trump has added with his choices in such a short time period. Where's the angst about PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY??

Trump has a personal jet and the money to pay for his vacations/retreats. That's personal responsibility and responsibility with tax dollars by elected officials. He said tax money needs be spent on defense over wastefulness, well start at home!

I say: STAY THE HELL IN THE WHITE HOUSE AND DO THE JOB YOU WERE ELECTED TO DO AND SAID YOU'D DO RESPONSIBLY! DOING SO, YOU'LL QUICKLY FIND MONEY FOR MANY PROGRAMS!! At this rate, you could save voters lives!
