The Republicans are in a position where they can kill Obamacare with a thousand cuts, dropping funding here, adding restrictions there. They want it to fail, and they are in the position to make it happen. They actually can make it implode.
We have to assume that the Republicans and Trump are in agreement that sabotaging Obamacare is their way forward.
We aren't out of the woods yet by any stretch of the imagination.
We need to watch these crooks like a bunch of angry hawks.

(17,003 posts)Hard! The repubs have just shown they don't have a plan and they don't know how to come up with a plan. Let's give them one.

The country is more ripe to hear this today than they have ever been before.

(25,241 posts)all through the run up to today's failed vote attempt and even after - all the Repugs have been saying ACA is a disaster; it is failing; it will implode. Not once have I heard a Dem stick up for it by explaining how the Repugs sabatoged it to assure its failure. Now the Dems need to - with details - tell the American People how the Repugs sandbagged it.
We have the attention of the American People now. It is time to out the Repugs and their destructive actions to ACA. It is also time to take it to the next step and promote a single payer - Medicare Part E - health insurance for every American modeled after the very successful Medicare Act that has supported elderly and disabled Americans for decades.

So glad the citizens are getting a real clear picture of who they are, this has turned around millions of deplorables I bet

Talk Is Cheap
(389 posts)Republicans will do everything possible to sabotage the ACA.
And a side note: the AHCA was actually a huge 'tax cut for the rich' bill. Look for these same tax cuts to be implemented in another tax bill. That's why Ryan says the next thing they will work on is taxes...

We have to call out everything they do to weaken the ACA, like they've been doing. This is war!

If we start pushing single payer we may find our way out of the wilderness.

(2,198 posts)As soon as the GOP tries to make a cut the Dems should spread the word, call more town halls to explain what they are doing and get the voters to jam the communication lines to their Representatives. Now that we have their attention, this entire episode might be the best avenue to educate some voters about the ACA and other laws like Estate Taxes, etc.
