STATEMENTS by the President

It seems to me that the utilization of TWEETS for distribution of Statements by the President deminishes the seriousness of the words and the Office of the President. Instead of Trump "tweeted" something, it should be described as "a statement released by the Office of the President today.....".
We are allowing every other Party Member off the hook as they imply "it's just a tweet". I believe the public tends to treat such statements no different than those of celebrities looking for attention or 15 year olds tweeting to get attention. I saw a Congressman respond to a "Trump tweeted something" question, only to respond "I don't have time to keep up with his tweets". The question should have been "The President issued a statement today to the U.S. citizens with worldwide distribution .... what would you like to say to your constituents in response?"

The Office of the President, the President, and our Country's standing are being diminished by trivializing such statements. we should not allow the commercialization of distribution technology impact the seriousness of our political dialogue.

So then I'm right about being wrong.
