This is well past Watergate level

This was a foreign invasion.

Those that sided and abetted better start copping plea deals and squealing their heads off because this time I don't think justice is going to fuck around.

I hear there's panic in the Whitehouse.

Nixon, too was guilty of dealing with the enemy. He told the N Vietnamese delgation to hold off on negotiating with LBJ, as he would offer them a better deal. This was only proven recently, when tapes were revealed per FOIA.

Though people were aware of it, there was recent confirmation of candidate Nixon's violating the Logan Act in 1968. He actually had the message sent to South Vietnam:

I hope the leaks have them rattled as hell. Not to mention suspicious bordering on paranoid. But I guess it's not paranoia because we are out to get them.

We all know people.
Some in influential positions.

Trump really is in way over his head. No public employee experience.

10. Nixon was illegitimate in 1968 too - he colluded to extend the Vietnam war

Nixon sabotaged the Paris peace conf in 1968 to give him an advantage over Johnson.

It's pretty unclear Johnson wanted peace either in 1968. But Nixon's activity was still fairly treasonous.

And yes Reagan should have been out after colluding with Iran too.

Younger DUers don't remember that. LBJ left tapes of discussions he had with repuke senators about Nixon' s treason.

They both involved the prez. That's it.

Watergate was a botched third rate burglary and the subsequent cover up.

This is high treason.

But the trying to piece together what the players have done, scouring everything looking for clues, and who will drop dime feels very familiar.

White House staffers are deleting messages, tweets, email from their phones, both official and personal phones -- they are worried about subpoenas.

Deleting won't work. Most of the stuff that's deleted can be recovered through forensic examination of the phone.

I can't escape this feeling that one day Comey is going to announce he's giving his final verdict, and it's gonna be like the Hillary emails presser all over again where half the country is waiting to hear someone is going to prison and then nothing (not that the two situations are comparable!)

The one thing that gives me hope is listening back to Hillary's campaign speeches where she talks about the Trump campaign and Russian interference. She sounds honestly disturbed, not like she's just playing dirty campaign politics. I don't trust all of these random Twitter sources, but I do trust Hillary if she says there's something major there.

18. The big question is will it be enough to force the Republicans to take action?

What would force them to impeach?
Illegal actions wouldn't be enough.
Only if public outrage becomes so strong that they have to do something or risk losing their jobs.

20. We have to have a strategy going forward.

Democrats need to work together to develop a strategy to uncover Russiagate. This involves ranking members in the House and Senate. Schiff seems to be using the media in a proactive way to advance the quest to get to the bottom of this saga.

One of the best things we can do is to turn the Republican strategies back on them. Encourage their infighting. Use distraction to get Republicans to agree to hearings.

While they are fighting each other, we need to get our butts into gear and marshal resources to Congressional races. We should be organizing now. I haven't heard much from the DNC, but there is a short window to get staffers vetted and hired and to get campaign offices up and running.
