$3 Thousand Per Foot for The Wall

Hoping lurkers and trolls, especially the latter, get this message by starting a thread this way
That stupid wall is asking for $999 million for 62 miles
That's 3 grand per 12 inches trumpeters, or $250 per INCH!!!!!
Not such a good business deal, huh?

4. Rope, $8 at Home Depot. One mile of wall equals 52 beautiful new homes.

So we have to sacrifice 52 beautiful homes for a wall, and the would-be immigrant has to sacrifice $8 for a rope to get over it. Makes perfect sense only if the object is to line someone's pockets so they can give you huge political contributions..

Using your figures of $999,000,000. for 62 miles...
That would be $16,112,903. (plus change) per mile so $16,112,903,000. (Although we all know that decent construction rarely comes in at or under budget).

Now add to that the maintenance that's going to be needed and the cost of the private property that they'll be seizing... 'buying'... using eminent domain, to build it. (How would you feel if the gov pulled eminent domain on a home/property you love?)

And let's not forget the hit to the economy that will result with the depreciation of the homes along that huge fence (that will block and destroy possibly lovely views). I mean seriously who 'really' wants to look at something like what already exists every day?

And if you think Mexico's going to pay for a wall that THEY don't want and only our crazy illegitimate president and xenophobic misinformed voters do, you need to loosen up your MAGA hat and let some oxygen get to your brain. The fact is that the money will come from cuts to very important services that elderly, disabled, veterans, children, women, our planet and possibly even YOU depend on.

With the number you provide, Mexico not only won't pay for the wall, they can't. Their entire GDP is not close to that figure.

To add a personal touch to it, if i wanted to do something like this around my BACKyard, it would cost me $600k. That's more than 3x of what my house is worth!

... I wonder what the cost will be for more remote areas. No paved roads, no power, no water, no fuel stations.

. . .because the original intent was to be a huge boondoggle to siphon money for rich people. Because either way, there is no way a freakin' wall costs $250 an inch. It would have to be made of titanium.
