GQ: Photo of Paul Ryan Leaving White House Shows How Trumpcare Went Down

Photo of Paul Ryan Leaving the White House Says Everything About How Trumpcare Went Down

Well, there you have it. At the eleventh hour, and possibly at the direction of President Donald Trump, Paul Ryan pulled the healthcare bill known as Trumpcare (also known as the AHCA). The decision followed an afternoon meeting where Paul Ryan went to the White House to break the news to the President that after days and days of negotiations, they still didn't have the votes to pass the bill. This, like so many things in the Trump administration, flies in the face of what Sean Spicer said at a recent briefing:

We're not looking at a Plan B. We have Plan A, it is going to pass, we are going to go from there.

Right after the decision to pull the bill, President Trump said that he didn't blame Paul Ryan, but while that was happening, according to reporters on CNN, the White House officials were claiming that Paul Ryan decided to pull the bill, while Ryan's staff claimed Trump did.

So, I think we can expect some fiery tweets coming from The Donald soon. But nothing, and I mean nothing, sums up what happened to the Republican plan to replace Obamacare quite like this photo of Paul Ryan leaving the White House shortly thereafter.

Man, that Spicer quote tho! "We're not looking at a Plan B. We have Plan A, it is going to pass, we are going to go from there."

What wretched excuse of a government doesn't have a Plan B? The very purpose of a government in a free society is to be the Plan B (and the Plan C and the Plan J) in case things don't go the way you want them to go. Nothing explains Republican mismanagement of government better than the fact that they nominated a guy who thought he can't fail at a complex job he didn't even know he didn't know how to do.

The Republicans have controlled Congress for over 6 years now and they still can't find their assholes with a map and two mirrors.

He basically compared all those "repeal Obamacare" votes from 2010 through 2016 to fantasy football, because the House knew each and every time that their vote was a total waste of time since President Obama would veto the bill. But this vote was the real deal, because President Trump would sign it. So it didn't even come to the floor, after all those previous votes in the House.

Which leaves us with the question for voters in Barton's district: How does it feel to be played like marks in a midway game? Did you find the black queen in that three card monte deal? Even after the guy bent the corner of the card and you still couldn't find it, did it occur to you that you were being played for a sucker?
