the question is, do they care whether Mexico is paying for it or not (it was a really stupid thing to believe in the first place)? Republicans by and large generally don't care about big massive government spending if it's being spent on things they want/like and Trumpers/ICE/CBP right now are having a hard-on for getting rid of Mexican immigrants- undocumented or otherwise, so as long as they think that this "wall" that Trump wants to build will do just that- at no cost to them personally, I'm not sure that they really care.
