Growing up we always dressed up flying and later being a married I still had no problem dressing up. But I have been on planes flying standby sitting next to smelly people wearing dirty clothes and wearing sandals on dirty smelly feet. But they paid and I didn't. There should be done type of dress code for everyone. The girl wearing practically only a skimpy bikini who was overweight was too much got me once flying from Hawaii. I asked the flight attendant if they would ask her to cover herself up and the flight attendant said she couldn't but she really wanted her to.

...the cattle car atmosphere -- the overcrowding, the flight attendants who frown on passengers leaving their seats to use the restroom, the restrooms that have barely enough room to breathe or move (I'm only 5'4&quot , the lack of amenities, the knowledge that the airlines will soon charge for water and restroom usage if they can -- has encouraged people to dress down. A lot.

Oh, I forgot TSA, which will soon have us stripping down to open-in-the-back hospital gowns for travel.

I believe people should not be smelly or otherwise unclean, and I would prefer not to see too much of their flesh (if I understand you about the bikini etc), but I long ago quit actually dressing up for the occasion.
