Paul Ryan Says He Doesnt Want To Work With Democrats On Health Care

ouse Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said he doesn’t want to work with Democrats on health care legislation.

“I don’t want that to happen,” Ryan said in an interview with CBS News’ Norah O’Donnell that will air Thursday morning. “You know why? I want a patient-centered system. I don’t want government running health care. The government shouldn’t tell you what you must do with your life, with your health care. We should give people choices.”

Ryan’s comments are not simply a departure from standard bipartisan bromides. They also fly in the face of comments from President Donald Trump in recent days indicating that he would be open to working with Democrats in the wake of the humiliating withdrawal of GOP health care legislation last week before a vote in the House of Representatives.

Patient centered system? He is proposing kicking people off of insurance, allowing insurance companies to completely run healthcare and for hospitals, the pharmaceutical industry, and clinics to charge whatever the market will bear and he has the nerve to say "patient centered system"? That boy was dropped on his head...more than once.

He hates the government, does not believe in government services, does not believe the government should collect taxes to provide services for its citizens, and believes in a social hierarchy in which a group of entitled people hold power and everyone else is left to struggle on their own.

He is a selfish and ugly man.

"Government run healthcare" would not tell any patient what they could or couldn't do with their healthcare, their life, or limit choices...funny word choices, since the right is all about limiting choice. It's time for those of us on the left, to push back against that nasty meme. Universal healthcare should be the goal of a civilized society, especially one in which it's founding document supports "general welfare" in its opening paragraph as a function of the government. No option along the spectrum of public option to single payer would force patients into choices they don't want to make. No government in the world with universal coverage functions in such a way. We can't keep allowing these turds to push these false memes.

how UNFAIR health insurance is to youngster/healthy people, because they have to pay these awful PREMIUMS to take care of all those nasty SICK people?

I think colbert is the one who showed that, pointing out that Ryan just defined insurance..........

[font color="navy" face="Verdana"]And contraception? And comprehensive, accurate sex ed? And abortion as a woman's personal life and healthcare choice? And marriage equality?

Is that right, Paul?

I've got to agree with him as far as these two sentences go:
"The government shouldn’t tell you what you must do with your life, with your health care. We should give people choices."

Interesting how reTHUGs say things that sound good but don't believe them or believe they only apply to themselves. I'm so sick of these warped, lying, hypocritical fucks.

He doesn't want tRump to have any success, and especially any success with Democrats at the expense of Republicons. He wants to keep his Speakership intact.

He knows that if tRump were to get Democrats on board then tRump could split the Republicon caucus even more badly than it is split now. Ryan is unable to ride herd on it most days even now and further splits would make that impossible.

He knows that he will not be able to take the poors insurance away if Dems vote too

He failed on his quest with control of both houses and the executive branch, so not sure why he thinks he will ever be able to do that. He is as delusional as the rest of them, just puts better face on the crazy.
