kind of a historical oversight for documentaries although somewhat covered by The Roosevelts and by the melo-dramatic but great Apocalypse World War I series. World War II has almost been over-analyzed including the 26 episode Laurence Olivier World at War series (BBC) which set the early standard for the modern war documentary
