I used to be a junkie, msnbc several hours a night, same talking heads saying the same thing every night. I stopped election night. Doing it for my own sanity, plus a lot of these people live in a bubble and have no idea what ordinary Americans are like or the issues they face.

No cable, no satellite, no broadcast.

I find DVDs in thrift stores, sometimes rent them from the RedBox.

My kid corrupted me with Netflix, but that's commercial free movies and documentaries too.

I'm completely intolerant of commercial television any more.

I think we are conditioned to accept accept rubbish television as children. I remember Saturday cartoons, I remember when my dad came home with a color television in 1966, the power of a good union job. But it's like smoking. Once you break the habit for good for a few years maybe, your rational self keeps you from going back.
