I think this is a prelude for our come together moment.
Putin doesn't care if Assad goes, but he cares if Syria goes. We have to have an agreed plan for how Syria will be managed post Assad. That's hard. It is a very big and very complicated country. Hillary tried to tell everyone years ago, do it now before the Russians and Iran are entrenched. She could see it coming because Assad needed military support.

I think breaking it up, and giving the displaced refugees the opportunity to leave, with all NATO countries taking their share, even the racists Brits, may be the ultimate solution. Not a good solution, but not the worst...which is to continue as we have... until Assad gets control...then when he gets close, the west intervenes and takes him back down a few notches. All of this bombing and bloodshed takes place on the heads of the Syrian people. DT is now exactly where we were before.
