A great song, a funny disclaimer, and a great reason to buy a great case for instruments.

My hero as I became older was the great Leo Fender because he made one of the first guitars to hold up in a bar fight. - Charlie Deal

on Fender vs Taylor.

But I played a Taylor that a friend has and it is a great instrument.

. . .i played three Martins, two Gibsons, and 2 Taylors. I narrowed it down to one of each. Then i asked the store's guitar department manager to play all three while i sat in front of him about 8 or 10 feet away. That way i could hear what they sounded like from in front.

I really like the sound of the Taylor, but the Martin was a little clearer in the low end. The Gibson was too boomy for me. Then he said, "Boy this Martin is easy to play". Exactly what i thought, so my decision was made.

The Fender and the Taylor reside in to different realms, although Fender does make an acoustical guitar.

I never saw that Danelectro Toilet Seat Guitar before. Wow, it was made the same year Charlie Deal was granted a patent for his.

I have played a Fender acoustic cutaway. A nice bright sound, as I remember. I prefer a stronger mid-range and low end and the Takamine is very much like a Martin in sound.
