Putin has not set up a meeting with him. He is acting like he doesn't want to talk to him. Putin is dismissing accusations concerning the sarin attack by saying the USA also said Iraq had WMD and that was a lie. Trump used the same line of reasoning to accuse the intelligence services of fake news. I'm sure that pleases Trump.

Tillerson didn't have to go to Russia to make statements about Assad. He could have enunciated his thoughts anywhere in the world. So who is he talking to, the Russian ambassador? Why was he going to Russia before the Syrian gas attack?

Does he look like he's coming to Russia hat in hand? Can Putin use this visit to look like he's the man and Tillerson can just go home without even a conversation?

Is the gas attack and the following dust up an excuse to have serious "get togethers" to smooth things over?
