German crowd hisses, boos at Ivanka when she defends her dad

(CNN)Ivanka Trump defended her father at a women's panel in Berlin Tuesday after attendees hissed and booed when she attempted to champion her father's commitment to women's issues.

The event opened with the first daughter explaining her role in the White House.

"You are first daughter -- German audience not familiar -- what is your role -- to whom are you represented? Your father, the American people, or your business," asked Miriam Meckel, editor of German business magazine Wirtschaftswoche.

"Well, certainly not the latter, and I am rather unfamiliar with this role as well, as it is quite new to me," replied Trump, a top adviser to her father. "It has been a little under 100 days, but it is just been a remarkable, an incredible journey."

5. She is a phony, just like her dad but in a different way.

Her "Country Club Weekend in The Hamptons" voice and fake smile in between every five words causes her to not seem like an actual living person. Whenever she is standing somewhere she poses like she's at a photo shoot. It is as if she is playing the role of what she thinks is a sophisticated person. Americans fall for that shit.

11. She has a very soft, refined way of speaking.

And yet, to me, it comes across as 100% fakery. I cringe every single time I hear her speak. I am sure she went to "finishing school" or wherever the elite send their daughters to learn how to speak, act and carry themselves. It is for sure she didn't get her refinement from that crass boor who is her father!

I wonder if it enters her well coiffed head how fake she looks and sounds?? And does she talk like that when the cameras are turned off? She is a pretentious looking, sounding and acting little princess. But then people like her seldom perceive how they come across, do they??

She should grow up and realize what's up. trump is using her by putting her in untenable situations in hoping she appeals to women and younger voters.

Women and people all over the world have heard the "Access Hollywood" tape, which is why the women at that conference booed her.

There's no defending him.

Don't know how she forms the words in her mouth to defend trump's policies on women.

She and her husband should get out before it's too late.

9. Good that German media is calling her out for her "vague" responses to specific questions.

However, when asked concretely about her father's plans to tackle inequality, Trump was vague. She said only that it was a priority for the administration to address the gender imbalance in the sciences and to break down "stifling" regulations, without elaborating which kind.

Worthwhile to watch John Oliver's deft analysis of Ivanka and Jared as a companion piece to this. He dissects how her statements are purposely vague and how US media soft pedals that by giving her the benefit of the doubt (and hanging hope without evidence on her supposed mediating role) instead of calling her out for it and pressing her to be specific.
