Popular Fox News nighttime host Sean Hannity may leave the conservative news network as early as after this evenings broadcast following Mondays resignation of Fox News co-president Bill Shine, reports the Daily Beast.
According to the Beast, sources at the network state that negotiations between Hannitys lawyers and an the the network could end this week with Hannity off the air by Friday. Another source said Hannity could say his farewells this evening.
Hannity is known to be very close to Shine, once saying the network ousting him would be the end of FNC as we know it.
The loss of head liner Hannity would be another blow to the network that recently dismissed popular host Bill OReilly and Megyn Kelly.

"In a statement filed last week with the Securities and Exchange Commission, the federal agency charged with regulating companies that offer investments to the public, iHeartCommunications parent company, iHeartMedia Inc., said that it had 'substantial doubt' that it would be in business by the middle of next year."

(82,849 posts)They have majorities in the House and Senate, and they have the White House. But instead of feasting on the fatted calf, it appears that all the old Fox hands are being turned out to pasture. You have to figure that they're never going to make as much again as they did during the years of their sinecures on Rupert's benevolent plantation. I hope they saved their nickels and dimes.

And HOW I wish people would stop calling Fox Noise a "conservative network." They are bestowing a hijacked term upon themselves that they neither fit nor deserve. Radical right wing, they are. Neo Fascist, they advocate. Conservative? They aren't interested in conserving ANYTHING.

(2,654 posts)Hannity cited a New York Times article, perhaps the one at the link below, to make the point that the 2003 invasion of Iraq was justified for the reason that Saddam Hussein had indeed been pursuing a nuclear weapons program as evidenced by the U. S. invasion forces' discovery of stockpiled uranium. In fact, the particular stockpile of uranium discussed in the NYT article was addressed in the post-Persian Gulf War accord of 1991, and from 1991 through 2004 it lay dormant pursuant to Hussein's adherence thereto.
I agree with you that Hannity is a liar and purveyor of half-truths.

They'll pop up on some new outlet or venue. Like vampires, they cannot be killed off.
They'll be unleashed since no longer under broadcast rules, and be as rabid and popular as ever.
I think us liberal science-lovers always underestimate how well liked these freaks are. They operate like a rage drug for them.
The only thing that will suffer is FOX News. And Murderdoch may have one less billion in his cache of mega-billions.

(33,643 posts)They've got the bucks to do it and the name recognition. Probably give Rush, Savage, Ingraham, Coulter and Alex Jones all their own shows, maybe lure back Beck (is he still a thing?) ...
If Hannity indeed leaves, then that is exactly the kind of thing I predict is going on. Faux just isn't extreme enough, they've gotten too PC ... letting Shepard Smith occasionally criticize their heroes ... not burning Megyn Kelly at the stake for witchcraft ... oh, and getting rid of Ailes and O'Really ... just for groping a couple of girls once or twice, I mean ... what's the world coming to?!?
The Wingnuts need them a REAL propaganda channel that won't 'cave' to stupid things like 'advertisers' ... Ailes, Billo and Sean will bring it to 'em.
This time, they won't even bother with teh facade of being a 'news' station either, it'll be like a RW radio station, with the blatherers spewing lies and venom about the evil Dems and Libs and Welfare Queens and Muslims and the Lamestream Media and ALL DAY LONG one show after another. It'll likely by funded mostly by billionaires, not advertisers (other than maybe gun/bullet makers, military contractors, 'buy gold' hucksters, and dick-pill makers), so they'll be free to catapult their fascist propaganda, 24/7 ... and Faux watchers will leave for it in droves ...
