I wish America would get with the program. Well, not necessarily these luxury trains, but good sound, smooth, quiet trains. Oh, that's right, DT wouldn't sign for CA to have their new train. #!@$^&*??!!!

(4,516 posts)I rode the Coast Starlight from San Luis Obispo to Seattle in a sleeping car.
You are forced to sit with strangers in the diner and I met some very interesting people. The scenery is beautiful and there are several cars with big windows to look out of.
It took 36 hours but I liked the ride and had no need to go fast.
I ride the San Diegan a lot. 7 hours to San Diego if there are no incidents on the tracks.
