ACHD House Vote, color me pragmatic

Yes, it passed by one vote.

But even if it LOST by one vote, the House would return for another vote on another day.

Republicans have set themselves up to keep voting in perpetuity until they repeal "Obamacare".

I lost count how many times they voted to repeal during Obama's tenure. I don't believe after two or three tries that the House would give up and focus elsewhere. First, the above: they made a "promise". Second, they need to steal the money from ACA to use for tax breaks because of the $20 trillion of debt they created in the first place.

Frankly, I'd expect Republicans to continue voting to repeal whether it was to finance an unneeded tax break or to finance paying down the debt.

The R's have gone at ACA with the single-mindedness of a dog looking for its bone. It's almost madening to consider the animosity they've held toward it. It infuriates them more that it is working. Maybe that privides extra urgency to get rid of it. And of course the insurance industry hates it.

I think the Senate will come up with something. But the 60 votes will never be there. But that rule can be changed as well.

It's so interesting to watch how hostile the R's are toward ordinary people. But yet the new christians--who are quite ordinary and often very poor--defend and vote for them. Why? We all know the many answers to that but mainly they want to be able to blame the feminist, the gays, the blacks, the educated, the muslims, the atheists, etc for the miserable state of their lives.
