Patrick Maloney (D-NY) holds Trumpcare town hall that John Faso (R-NY) was too scared to attend

Rep. Patrick Maloney (D-NY) trolled Rep. John Faso (R-NY) in his colleague’s own district on Monday, holding a town hall in Faso’s place after the GOP congressman refused to face his constituents to explain why he voted for the American Healthcare Act.

Faso was one of 217 House Republicans to vote for the GOP’s Obamacare replacement plan last Thursday, despite lacking a score from the Congressional Budget Office.

Faso was invited to Monday’s “Save our Healthcare Town Hall” in Kingston, but a spokesman last week said he would not attend the event. In a tweet Saturday, Maloney said if his Republican colleague refused to answer constituents’ questions, he would.

“I’m not doing you a favor by answering your questions if I represent you. It’s my job,” Maloney said at the town hall Monday.

Our repubbie refused to attend the first time we invited him. We had the town hall without him. We addressed our questions to an empty suit and a pair of shoes, with his picture where his head should have been (assuming it was not up his ass).

Then, he held a very tightly controlled town hall sponsored by the League of Women Voters. I was not satisfied with his answers or his attitude. He is an even bigger dork than I expected.

If he does not have a town hall again, to explain his vote to repeal, and to explain his other positions, we will have someone from an adjacent district who is a Democrat. The county chairmen in this district are in contact with two nearby Congressman already!

People wanted in.

He reminded them frequently that he was their next-door congressman, but not theirs.

About 400 people. Standing room only. All with only about two days notice! The woman who Rachel Maddow a few days ago showed a clip of Faso hugging, with him promising to medically have her back only to betray her, was there and she spoke too. She was amazing. So was the Congressman. He organized the crowd to tweet Faso at his out of town fundraiser - and it made the trending tweet list. I have to run to work for a bit now - may be able to write more about it later.

Thanks for sharing. I would recommend starting a thread about your experience. Do you have any footage to post?
Would love to hear that woman speak about being so betrayed by Faso and with video proof! Republicans are not normal human beings. They have something very wrong with them.

One was a Republican Congresswoman whose male neighboring congressman did something similar.

KINGSTON – Rep. John Faso told about 100 people Monday the House Republican health-care bill keeps the best of Obamacare and then, to top it off, lowers costs for everyone.

“I think we are building on the experience of the ACA (Obamacare) in many respects. It is not being junked,” Faso, a Republican from Kinderhook, said at the Kingston Library.

“But it is vitally important that we take action to lower premiums and deductibles ... so people can afford it,” he said.

It is hard to say if Faso made any converts to his position at the forum.

I was running fast and mistakenly thought this story was about the Town Hall Meeting that Faso didn't come to. My reply here therefor was off topic.

Looks like "we need to lower premiums and deductibles" will be some of the puke talking points they are using to lie about what their plan does. After all, who could argue with that? Of course, when you get junk insurance in return, what's the point?

Counter the gerrymandering by exposing these districts to what Democrats can offer them.
