In Park Slope, Brooklyn, today, man falls on subway tracks, and heroes jump down to help him
My daughter called us and texted me today. This morning, on her way to work, a man fell onto the subway tracks. She isn't sure why, Immediately, one man yelled, "Shit," and jumped down to help him, followed by 6 other people. My daughter called 911 and the people got the unconscious man back onto the platform, cause staying on the tracks is deadly dangerous, and then jumped back up onto the platform themselves.
The EMS came and my daughter didn't think they were able to revive the man. It seemed like perhaps he had a heart attack or stroke and just fell on the tracks. But in that terrible liberal city, with all those "dangerous immigrants," a half dozen people jumped onto electrified tracks to help another man, with what my daughter said was "zero hesitation," and tried to save his life. She was pretty shaken up, but also very heartened to see that people can be heroes in their everyday lives.
I haven't seen anything about this story anywhere, but I hope it does get out. We need heroes.
