Help me understand this Post story. To me it seems to contain contradictory information.

At another point in the testimony, Comey said Abedin forwarded hundreds and thousands of emails, some of which contain classified information.
Neither of those statements is accurate, said people close to the investigation.
Later on in the Post story it says:
Investigators identified approximately 49,000 emails which were potentially relevant to the investigation, the letter said.
All were reviewed with a particular focus on those containing classified information. Investigators ultimately determined that two e-mail chains containing classified information were manually forwarded to Mr. Weiners account.
So
isnt 49,000 a large number? And if two e-mail chains contained classified information wasnt Comey telling the truth when he said some of which contained classified information?

(5,823 posts)key words and phrases so an attorney review is more feasible. 49,000 isn't a large number of emails for a team of attorneys to reviews. I find his statement a bit misleading if only two emails were found.

(6,324 posts)Is that it appears emails made it to Wieners computer in two ways.
A small number of emails, including a few with classified information, were forwarded from Huma to him, probably to his email address, with a request to print them for her.
A massive number of emails were not manually forwarded but rather automatically backed up or synced by her phone because at one time she had set up her email/phone on that laptop and it just kept automatically syncing, probably without any knowledge by her it was occurring.
Imagine if you used someone else's computer to dock your phone or do a reset and it set up a sync or backup of your data that automatically kept going and you didn't realize it was happening.

(6,324 posts)The claim that Huma had forwarded thousands of emails instead of saying they were automatically syncing in the background by default.

(1,907 posts)From what has come out the emails may not have been classified at the time. They had no headers or other indicators they were classified. Some of Hillary's emails were classified after they had already been distributed. The ones here may have been some of the same emails.

It is scheduled to take effect on Sep 1st.
Been in the news alot down here.
Even police chiefs and sheriffs have been making trecks to the capitol trying to persuade legislaters to vote no.
Hundreds of hours of protests.
But the bigots just have to outbigot themselves.

(16,829 posts)Every workplace in America trains their employees on how to recognize "phishing" emails. Is there no training for federal employees, especially someone in a high position? She's a brilliant lady and she could easily have learned how to do this.

(53,032 posts)That's how the Kremlin got the email they released. Clinton's are about the only emails that weren't compromised.
BainsBane
(53,032 posts)Come on. It's a transparent excuse. He fired Comey to interfere with the investigation into his collusion with the Kremlin. The testimony is a pretext, nothing more. Let's keep the eye on the ball.
