I had bet on 18 months before a theatrical end to this neo-authoritarian, purely spectacular, regime. It will be shorter than that.
And although this draws a deplorable picture of the American society, culture and politics, it is a good thing. It will eventually save this country from decay.
We can expect more drama but the outcome is pretty much set.
Some rats (e.g. Chaffetz) have already swam away from the sinking ship. More will follow shortly.
