I've been watching the MSNBC coverage this evening and several hosts or guests have mentioned that people who have worked a long time with James Comey agreed that he was a person of high integrity who did what he believed was right, etc. If this is true, there were a lot of blind people around him. Regardless of what he says, there has been a clear pattern in his actions at least since last summer that are contrary to an attribution of integrity.
I'm a strong believer in Maya Angelou's advice, that when someone shows you who he is, believe him.

(16,384 posts)It's easy for me to have contempt for Comey while also understanding that this is about covering up Russia and that his dismissal takes us a little further down a very dark road.

(16,104 posts)"The Trump investigation is over and we have found no criminal activity - at least not on a level comparable to Hillary, Huma and Anthony," what dark road would we be down then?
The investigations, the evidence gathered, the process is all still in place and ongoing.
I don't understand how anyone could believe Comey was going to do anything? He barely confirmed Trump associates we're maybe being investigated?

(16,384 posts)But it's not just about Comey. It's about Yates and the Preet Bharara as well. I don't see how anyone could ignore the pattern or not be disturbed by it because of their desire to scratch the Comey itch. This is a story that exposes binary thinking.

(16,104 posts)but said not one word about Trump - who was being investigated for possible collusion with Russia?
This is who we could trust?
There are some things we do know - Comey would chat endlessly about emails - but Trump/Russia - "SSsshhh, super secret."

Now do a side-by-side with Comey and Yates.
Comey isn't fit to shine her shoes.
Grand juries have been impaneled. Indictments may be forthcoming. The investigation will continue, despite what Trump and Putin think.

(7,575 posts)I am watching MSNBC as well.....we are angry at Comey because of Hillary's emails...but aside from that I think Comey could have gotten the job done.....which is why the orange one fired him.
