If we make it to November, 2018?
At the present time, the Senate is 52-48 in favor of Repubs. They have a 241-194 majority in the House.
If Donald Trump stays in power until the next election, it may weaken the Republicans moreso than if he is impeached? His daily disasters and continuous lies will drag the Republicans into a deep ditch. They may be stronger if Trump is no longer on the scene? No doubt, that will part of their equation before the next election, I would think?

(4,492 posts)Given what the senate map looks like.
But the overlooked races are the state legislative races and the governor's races. The class of 2018 (and 2017) governors will oversee redistricting.

(21,240 posts)And the voter Id laws and those preprogrammed machines will keep them in power. And All those red states only hear one side because of hate radio.
Something needs to be done to those machines. Resistance needs to have a people's vote outside voting stations done on paper and the people count them and then compare the tallies. Advertise it and have people vote in both places and the count can be done in front of everyone before the official votes of the rethug control votes. (39,393 posts)We're defending 25 seats vs. 8 for the Republicans. We have a shot at turning NV and maybe AZ. They can target IN, MO, ND and MT among others. I think we'll do fine in those states, but even if we run the table we pick up max two seats.
So, the House.
