Trump isn't just leaking classified info, but he doesn't seem to know what is and isn't classified to begin with. Perhaps he should read his one-page briefings.
While all of the focus is appropriately on the fact that Donald Trump revealed highly-classified intelligence to the Russians in a private Oval Office meeting, buried deep in the same Washington Post report is another stunning revelation: The presidents advisers cant even get Trump to read a dumbed-down version of foreign policy briefings.
Thats right Trump demands that briefings be cut down to one page and presented in easy-to-read bullet points, and he still cant be bothered to read them.
More via The Washington Post:
He seems to get in the room or on the phone and just goes with it, and that has big downsides, the second former official said. Does he understand whats classified and whats not? Thats what worries me.
Its not only a terrifying that the President of the United States is leaking classified intelligence its even more frightening that Trump doesnt appear to have a clue what is and what isnt considered classified.
Perhaps if Donald Trump read the briefings his national security team works so hard to dumb down for him, he would have a better idea of when to keep his mouth shut, especially when hes talking to a foreign adversary but the American people shouldnt expect him to change his ways anytime soon.
During the campaign, it was at times humorous just how shamelessly ignorant Trump was on all issues related to foreign policy or, well, on all issues in general.
As president, its starting to have real and very damaging consequences.

(22,912 posts)With the continuing demographic changes already underway, if most of the whites who shifted from voting for Obama to Trump instead returned to voting Democratic (not most Trump voters, just that subset) Trumps politics would be toast on the national level.

Watch the politicians like Kasich that have been consistent in their rejection. They have to be the front runners in the 2020 Republican primary (whether it is Trump or Pence).
Ryan and McConnell are dead men walking. So is Pence.
Unfortunately to take full advantage of this the Democrats need at least one house of Congress in 2018, but I don't see that happening.
