It's based, very poorly on the Russian word that means "disinformation." We're supposed to think it's clever. It's not. It's a very weak shortcut, since the word in Russian doesn't end in "a" at all.

Team Deza = carriers and disseminators of Russian disinformation
The word Deza has several meanings actually depending where its used.
From Baby Names to a location in the French countryside to business names.
