BY OLIVIA BEAVERS - 05/23/17 02:25 PM EDT
Sen. Al Franken said there is "a very decent chance" that President Trump will still be in office when the Minnesota Democrat's book comes out on May 30.
"The book is coming out May 30, so I still think there's a very decent chance he'll still be president," Franken told USA Today in an interview last week, alluding to the ongoing probes consuming the White House over Russian election interference and ties between the Trump campaign and Moscow. But the former "Saturday Night Live" comedian said he doesn't know if Trump will make it to the end of his four-year term.
"That was kind of a joke, but it's kidding on the square," Franken continued, explaining that it's the kind of joke "that you also mean."
"There's a lot here that we need to get to the bottom of, and part of it is his campaign. Did his campaign cooperate with the Russians who are undermining our democracy?" Franken said to USA Today's Susan Page.

(7,812 posts)election cheating, more people involved, and above that it means he's compromised because anyone who knows about the collusion has leverage.
And that's before we talk about emoluments, rico, fitness, money laundering since the 90s, and Logan Act. I really hope we don't just focus on obstruction.

AL Franken, Giant of the Senate at Amazon.
"This is a book about an unlikely campaign that had an even more improbable ending: the closest outcome in history and an unprecedented eight-month recount saga, which is pretty funny in retrospect.
It's a book about what happens when the nation's foremost progressive satirist gets a chance to serve in the United States Senate and, defying the low expectations of the pundit class, actually turns out to be good at it.
It's a book about our deeply polarized, frequently depressing, occasionally inspiring political culture, written from inside the belly of the beast.
In this candid personal memoir, the honorable gentleman from Minnesota takes his army of loyal fans along with him from Saturday Night Live to the campaign trail, inside the halls of Congress, and behind the scenes of some of the most dramatic and/or hilarious moments of his new career in politics.
Has Al Franken become a true Giant of the Senate? Franken asks readers to decide for themselves."
