Based solely on the unhelpful (for himself) way he has conducted himself in what interviews I have seen, the guy seems like a really educated dude with fucking zero common sense. Maybe even slightly on the spectrum. Doesn't seem to realize how he is coming across.

as if he is afraid he might face negative repercussions from his Russian handlers/business interests or Trump & Co. if it is suspected he is disloyal and cooperating with US investigators
