The Pentagon on Tuesday said it could not square President Trumps tweets about Qatar and terrorism with its own statement about the countrys enduring commitment to regional security.
I cant help you with that, Pentagon spokesman Capt. Jeff Davis said in response to a question about reconciling the presidents social media remarks and Department of Defense comments about the U.S. ally.
I will only tell you that we have, with regard to our bases there, continued presence in our operations.
Trump shocked much of Washington on Tuesday when he took credit for the decision of Saudi Arabia and several other Arab nations to break off diplomatic relations with Qatar.

A). Trump is living up to a promise he made to the Saudi's, not likely since he actually met with and made deals with the Qatar govt while on his trip
B). He's being played by the Russians, who hope to swoop in and make nice with Qatar at the last min
Or
C). He has no freaking clue one of our largest military bases in the Middle East is located there...I think that's highly likely
