Hillary deserves an apology from the media, and those so-called political analysts who wrote the books and editorials with such smug authority telling us why she lost.

(6,974 posts)Not sure about that ^^^.
Even if we as Dems come out in record numbers (Would be great, as Dems normally don't come out for mid-term elections), the GOP will be voter-suppressing us by any means necessary and off the chain, AND the ruskies will be back at it again (They've never stopped meddling per Clint Watts), because tRumputin pretty much "officially" invited them into our elections in July 2016 when he told the russians to go find Hillary's emails.
Would you actually trust THIS current ruskie-involved DOJ lead by beauguard (As long as he remains AG--he may be on his way out) on anything that might benefit Dems in a positive way? We've gotten a few wonderful rulings out of NC and Tx overturning and making right voting-right wrongs done by thuglicans, but there will come a time when we will get a ruling which ISN'T in our best interest concerning voting rights.
As of now, Dems still remain at the mercy of the ruskies (Damn, that shouldn't be so here in the USA for God's sake) and of thuglicans re voter-suppression efforts.

(5,106 posts)Pence would be tarred with the same brush as Trump, and Paul Ryan is under a cloud himself. Orrin Hatch then? President Pro Temp of the Senate is next in line. The cheating party comes out ahead, anyway. Some seventeen months until the next election could possibly gives Democrats control of Congress. After Hatch the line of succession goes down through the cabinet (all Trump picks), making Hatch lo lie a last resort (what's wrong with this picture?) No provisions in the Constiitution for a do-over election. I guess the founding fathers never imagined a major political part y to go so "rogue." The concept of the"loyal opposition" has been gone for the Republicans since Eisenhower and the Democrats were very slow to catch on.

(76 posts)If Trump is no longer President, for whatever reason, and Pence takes over - he will immediately nominate a new VP.
The VP nominee needs to be approved by a majority of each branch of Congress.
If Trump and Pence were to simultaneously leave office, Ryan becomes President and nominates a new VP for consideration by Congress.

(37,648 posts)It was considered being a sore loser. Or causing people to lose faith in our election system.
And here we are...those who asked the question "Is it possible? This result doesn't jive with the data" were spot on.
This goes to show that it is worth at least having the discussion, when something seems genuinely amiss.
We likely have an interloper in the White House. And this is why we are seeing the White House in chaos, the country in crisis, and the worst President in history.

The ONLY way these GOP SOBs can win the White House (or run the table in the House, Senate, or at the state level for that matter) is if they cheat.

(5,810 posts)But she ran a horrible campaign, I thought I would scream. Then why was she predicted to win by so many reputable polls? Why did so many of the people in this country feel certain we were headed to a Clinton Presidency?
We can now understand that we weren't wrong. We were robbed! And they did it right under our noses, which is one of the reasons why it hurt so much. For Hillary---- To have to lose to the awful tyrant and then have to come out on stage and be gracious about it must have been the biggest blow of all. And now to learn that it was all stolen from her and from us is a kick to the gut.
We must have justice. tRump must pay for his crimes and anyone else involved in this scheme/scam must be prosecuted. There will be no way to make it right for Hillary, but she should be given the satisfaction of knowing she really did win. And we deserve to know the truth, too.

It's just that right is right, and wrong is wrong, and I sure would like "right" to triumph for once. I think it would be good for all of us to see actual justice. I'm not holding my breath, but I can hope, at least.

(48 posts)I moved seven months before the election, and I knew I had to let the BOE know so I could vote in the new district. I sent in the form, but never got a notification that it had been fixed.
About a week before the election I became concerned and went to the BOE in person.
They had no record of me.
I got it straightened out, but if I hadn't I would've been shut out on Election Day. I was furious, thinking it was the state GOP. But now I've learned that NC was on the list of states where the GRU tried to access the voter rolls.
Maybe it was 'innocent' laziness by the Republican-appointed BOE staff. Maybe it was the NC GOP culling Democrats who'd changed their poling places in the last six months. But maybe..
