The more I read and see, everything he says and does has me convinced of this. How can we have a president who doesn't deep down love the country he is supposed to represent, promote and defend? I know he was never a big flag waving patriot but I doubt he really cares about the US and what it IS to be an American. I guess I've been watching too much Ken Burns Iately.

(11,686 posts)I have seen this...a....uhm...yeah....thing for many years doing and saying horrible things. Unlike some people ( who voted for him ) I knew about him before the Apprentice. I just remember people being all gaga over him because he was the man on the Apprentice. They did not study him before casting their vote and they got someone who only loves himself and never this country.

(152 posts)Trump, Kushner...both of them are barely hanging on financially.
It's clear to me now that certain types; certain AMERICAN types will do anything...bar nothing, to keep that illusion of wealth and status going. Money laundering, computer crimes, treason and even murder if it came down to it. They saw this as a business opportunity. A chance to make a fortune off the presidency and get out from under crushing debt at the same time.
I doubt the fact they were committing treason even entered their minds. At least as a deterrent.

(16,423 posts)He regards it as nothing more than an economic environment in which he operates.
He has proven over and over again that he cares neither about its history, nor its traditions, nor its laws.

(90,769 posts)Like many, he sees America and Americans as just another resource to exploit.
He's lazy in that he had the opportunity to learn other languages and to travel as a means of broadening his reach - even if not his mind - and chose not to do either. Because he's scared and satisfied to sit in New York (now D.C.) and bark orders.
He's scared of the world because he knows he falls short - but in America, he was seen as a success.
A big man in America - but a America he sees as a means and not a country. Using Americans as a means and not as people.
Look how they all exploit workers in other countries - they see Americans as no better.
He has no loyalty to anything or anyone outside his carefully nurtured circle of sycophants (to include his kids) - and any love he feels is the same kind of love he has when he speaks of loving the uneducated.
And that's not love.

(13,496 posts)the agenda of his presidency was to reduce the dignity of the executive arm of our government. He's succeeded in less than half a year. Imagine all the damage he will do in the future.
Lord knows I have not agreed with every president before him. But they were all willing to work within the framework of our laws. This guy is a loud-mouth buffoonish godzilla knocking everything down, accidentally, with his tail.

(9,600 posts)Trump is self absorbed. The GOP house majority is supporting Trump's self absorption. Only a newly elected majority of Democratic Party house members in 2018 can save the United States from Donald Trump.
