If this newly exposed Russian attempt to hack is true, the Ohio GOP is a witting or witless accomplice! #RussiaGate #UnHackTheVote

Thanks to the sleuths who will not quit unti the bs is revealed.
Good twitter feed on the Ohio election.
It tells us that in certain States the door was intentionally left unlocked for the thieves to step in.
Thanks to "Unhack the Vote", & all those remarkable, & well connected private eyes

Now he wants to connect that with Russia & make the Ohio GOP complicit.
Keep chipping away, the truth will be found out.
There's so much cover-up in this whole unbelievable ordeal.

(678 posts)Maybe lay the blame at the feet of the GOP & their foreign criminal organized crime family.
Or maybe it would have made a big difference in the GE if gullible voters wouldn't have so eagerly used the lies of Putin/Trump to keep the Democrats from the Presidency & congress/senate..
Some here have played that game since the 2016 GE began.
Dividing the Party worked so well for some apparently.
The Dems COULD have and WOULD have done something, they had addressed the problem and laid out policy to end it, but eagerly carrying the RW lies forward was more important to some.
So stop blaming the Dem Party. #Own your role and move on.
"Own your role and move on"
And from this moment on, STOP SPREADING THE DAMNING PROPAGANDA OF THE BILLIONAIRE CORPORATIST BOUGHT 'CITIZEN'S UNITED'.

to be speaking on our behalf. He is NOT a credible source.
Greg Palast has a history lying or stretching the truth.
In the California primary Palast claimed that a majority of provisional ballots were being discarded. That was a lie. California counts all their votes, including provisional ones, and that is regardless if a winner has been projected by a news outlet or not. All votes are counted, and can be verified in California. His false claim was debunked by the LA County Register. People can also check on the status of their ballot online, when it was counted.
"USA Daily Politics cited a blog post by investigative journalist Greg Palast to support its claim that a majority of provisional ballots were discarded. However, that claim was addressed and largely debunked the next day, when Dean Logan of the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk addressed fears of uncounted provisional ballots on Twitter and stated that most would probably be deemed valid and added to totals" and they were

He is an attention seeker for self promotion and grandious claims, and he does more damage than good, because he spews half-truths. We need credible people, not bullshit artists to expose the truth, not to mislead people.
Sorry, but Palast is not my idea of good journalist

(108,980 posts)California primary. He was claiming that Bernie was being deprived of a win because provisional votes would never be counted -- which was completely false. Every provisional vote was checked out and the vast majority were included in the vote totals. That's why it took a month before California had final vote totals, which Hillary won by 7%.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/post-politics/wp/2016/07/07/one-month-later-california-finishes-its-vote-count-and-clinton-wins/?utm_term=.54edab754273
It lasted longer than the 1979 conflict between China and Vietnam, but California's slow-moving count of provisional and mail-in ballots is finally over and as expected, Hillary Clinton won.
Wednesday night, after ballots were finally processed in San Mateo County, Clinton had won 2,745,293 votes to 2,381,714 for Bernie Sanders. The eventual margin was 363,579 votes, or 7.1 percentage points, closer than the 2008 primary between Clinton and Barack Obama.

(92,213 posts)are enough credible journalists and investigators to insure that doesn't happen I think.

(678 posts)..then there is a good chance it will be persued to the end.
There are a few other pretty amazing sleuths out there & hopfully they're working on this same course in other states.

(678 posts)However I will give a pat on the back to anyone willingvto uncover & expose what a shitty deal was made between the GOP & Russia.
If Palast actually makes this connection & it leads to the demise of even one State skewing the vote in their favor, then he and the rest of those who are working in the background on some part against Trump, I'll appreciate him for that much.
He's got a lot to answer for as to his role in aiding the fracturing of the Dem Party. We have Trump because of that endless backhanded bs.
Divide the Party. That's what Putin & the GOP wanted.
Many played a role in Trump sitting where he is.
I would like to see any one of them show some integrity & just own up to their role.
But sure I'll give Palast credit for this. Unless its all talk and no follow thru.
We'll see.
There's definately a case to persue in some key states & knowing what we know about Russia, maybe it peels back yet another layer.
We'll hope it goes that direction..

(92,213 posts)how not ever vote is counted in California, and provisional ballots get thrown out, and absentee ballots not being counted.
It was an untrue statement. I am from California, and every vote is counted, including provisional ballots.
To remind folks it took quite a few days for all the votes to be counted in California, and that is because they were counting EVERY vote.
Not surprisingly though, Palast never followed up on his false assertion regarding California throwing votes out because he knew it was false. Snoopes and other sources refuted his claim at the time.
In my view if Palast wasn't as concerned with getting attention for himself, and more concerned with facts and irregularities it would serve a much better purpose for everyone

(678 posts)And that's just for all the lying bs he's said.
I'll have to read more on Ohio.
I'm sure there are others more credible than Palast who are reporting on this Ohio situatuon.
They deserve to be credited also.
I'd so love to see the rigged voter system exposed and cleaned up.
Repubs would never win another election if that ever happened.

Which has undermined if not destroyed his credibility.
You said.. Greg Palast has a history lying or stretching the truth.
Do you have any other proof?
He seems to have a good group of Democrats behind him.

(2,574 posts)Rove was just so determined, so sure that Repubs were going to win Ohio & exactly where...I think that election night moment was our first national bulletin that Republicans were fixing results, they just hadn't, apparently, quite perfected their vote tampering in 2012.
I suspect any state, especially swing state, with a Republican Gov & Sec'y of State. by 2016 fully primed for vote fixing. Especially with the knowledge on steroids added by Mercer's Cambridge Analytica and Russian Espionage.

(7,820 posts)I think the fix was in in Ohio. They held off calling it as long as possible- until it became clear Obama had enough to win without Ohios electoral votes. I believe there was a deal to steal Ohio (again) but tptb in Ohio werent gonna commit election fraud if it didnt mean a win anyway. This is why we have to turn out in huge margins- especially in swing states and districts. It sucks, but it cant be close enough for them to steal. 2016 wasnt even that close, and they still wormed their way to wins in just the right few areas in just a few states. With a little help from their Russian friends, of course.

It's always their most important swing state.

(9,524 posts)friends I was watching with, "I've seen this before. Kerry/Bush 2004."
But I was not at all sure Hillary would win and had been saying for a number of months that I was really worried with all the hacking going on that they were going to steal the election again. If they could hack into the DNC, would they stop with that? And Even MSM was reporting on Russian hacks of voter reg databases in nearly half the states and I never believed it when they said it didn't affect the vote count. Come on. Does anyone really think if they had the capability to hack voter databases, they would stop with that?
Then there was all the stuff with Interstate Crosscheck and the usual voter suppression and voting machine issues. Unholy alliance between Russia and GOP.
