(85,996 posts)...what we want to know is 'what was said' in those encounters.
They want the verdict to rest on whether they felt pressured, and that may well carry some legal weight in a court. But for the American people, the question is less about how Trump can explain away intent, but what he actually said.
Tell us what was said and let us judge for ourselves, and remember, any verdict on Trump (if that happens) will, initially, be a political one.

(62,444 posts)Not really.
Whether they subjectively "felt pressured" is not the issue. The issue is whether, objectively, Trump was attempting to pressure them.
For example, a guy once attempted to mug me, armed with a safety razor blade. He was about 2/3 my height, and probably less than half my weight. I was not intimidated in the least, and he backed down. The fact that I did not "feel threatened" by that jackass has nothing to do with the fact that he was attempting to threaten me.

(62,444 posts)Whether a person would objectively consider whatever Trump said to be "pressure" is not determined by whether the person to whom it was said "felt pressured".

(5,810 posts)I was looking forward to this hearing (and tomorrow's hearing with Comey). I feel like someone just punched me hard. This is without a doubt the most frustrating experience of my life. To hear all the stuff dripping out, surely based on some facts, and then see people weasel out is beyond exasperating. I got the distinct impression that someone "got to Rogers and Coats". Just another day in this sh*t show.

(14,971 posts)supposed to be about FISA warrants. Maybe they thought Warner was trying to make it about Trump. I'm not defending them and am glad Warner asked but maybe they didn't want things to get sidetracked.

After following a story about him here on DU two or so weeks ago, I found more articles about his past. His behavior has caused many problems with his co-workers. He's an odd one, he doesn't appear to be well liked, and his behavior during Trumps campaign wasn't understood by his colleagues.
For instance he left his post without telling colleagues or superiors to travel to see Trump during the campaign. Colleagues throughout his various positions had enough negative things to say about him, that I personally find him untrustworthy at best.
