In today's world, you can drive in an expensive from a huge house to a beautiful office to a fancy restaurant every day and never see a poor person, pay for it withiut ever checking you bank account, and talk onlynto other people doing the same thing.

A bit.of.obscure history. The Chinese Ming Dynasty ended in the 17th century. The last Ming Emperor was so out of touch, he did not know that the Ching had taken the entire country until they were storming the gates of The Forbidden City. Then he killed himself.

"...the political class which used to dictate the “narrative” and set the agenda is having those powers wrested off it. What was it that Goldman’s executive said back in 2007? “It makes you reassess how big the extreme moves can be.” The political class should brace itself for many more extreme moves."
