We are thankful for the work Jeff has done and look forward to his next project, said Our Revolution board chairman and former Communications Workers of America president Larry Cohen in a statement. Were thrilled that our board member and progressive champion Nina Turner will be our new president.
But the stylistic differences between Weaver and Turner are vast, symptomatic of the divisions within a left thats locked out of power and arguing about how to get it back. Turner, who made a splash in 2015 by jumping from Hillary Clintons presidential campaign to Sanderss, has become a superstar among left-wing activists who think the Democrats have become so corporate as to raise questions about whether theyre worth saving.

(967 posts)Clinton in the general election even though he voted Sanders in the primary?
I need to put them together if true, or keep them separate if not true.
Thanks in advance.

(967 posts)From the Op i read from, I was getting that it was merely a group of four. Thank-you NCTraveler.

(30,481 posts)They are starting to make a lot of bad decisions. Their initial growth was from the Sanders connection. Weaver was someone competent enough to grow an organization. He possessed the skills to do so. With their newly elected President they will simply become an extremist organization that calls for more loyalty oaths while yelling at walls.

(967 posts)We need a strong line on the Democrat base instead of accommodating. People can be smart and vote Republicans out or throw a tantrum voting for someone they know does not have a chance. It clearly shows coddling, conjoling, reason won't work.

(68,868 posts)Our Revolution is going to find itself struggling between being coopted (fierce resistance against Tr*mp is now mainstream) and marginalized (greatly diminished appetite for circular firing squads).
When Corey Booker, a corrupt villain according to the Our Revolution crowd, says that "there is great value, if not justice, in opening up Medicare to all" where does that leave them?
Will there really be appetite for hits on Blue Dog types running in conservative districts?

(2,897 posts)Now you know that depends on where the Blue Dog stood during the 2016 primary.

And from the article, here's a direct quote by Turner three days ago:
What is the difference between the Democrats & Republicans again? Turner tweeted. Oh, the difference between the fox & the wolf!
