(27,813 posts)I remember when she was on CNN, before she went to Fox, and I never understood why she had a show in the first place. She's not compelling, she doesn't seem particularly insightful (no matter which network she's on), and she doesn't seem to have any investigative zeal. Why she's had a show for so long is mysterious.
smirkymonkey
(63,221 posts)It's always been a mystery to me. She must have had some great connections or she had some serious dirt on somebody higher up.

(27,813 posts)How that morphed into a show is strange, but of course, CNN itself has morphed a lot since then.

(8,203 posts)only becz hubby was channel surfing...I noticed she would just sit back - ask a lame question, and expect the guest to pick up her slack...Nichol Wallace does the same thing....totally unlike Rachel - our PHD DR. Maddow, or Lawrence, or Joy, who paint the bigger picture - history of subject, specifics, not just a headline
- guess fox just doesn't know how to educate - oh, that's right...and now Chaffshit will join the faux news...good place for him, he has lot's of experience.....lying.....

(51,608 posts)Yesterday was the 2nd time I ever saw her and was reminded after a few minutes why. I had forgotten to change the channel and heard her seriously say, "Can things used in a hospital be sterilized and reused to cut costs?". Cotton balls, tongue depressors, plastic gloves... sure Greta.

(10,749 posts)I think MSNBC is going to find that there is no market for conservatives in the reality-based universe. And, really, I don't think it's the so-called liberal bias. It's that liberals are more interested in rational, fact-based reporting and analysis. To say nothing of the Fox taint.
I think Kelly will follow the same path.
I suppose you can argue that we are all just going to silo our views - hear only what we want to hear from like-minded commentators. Maybe. But I really do think it goes further than that.
It'll be interesting what happens with Bret Stephens from the NYT. The problem is that Brooks, Douthat, et al have repeatedly shown themselves to be party line conservatives for whom reality is a nuisance. Sure, they have a good column now and then, but it's almost by accident.

I like Ari Melber. He's substituted for several regulars and always does a good, thorough job on the issues and news of the day.

(260 posts)I used to have MSNBC as a preset on my SiriusXM car radio. When she took over the 5:00 CT spot, I switch to CNN. I couldn't stand her reporting and her tenancy to invite Republican guests. Hopefully they put a real liberal on now to take advantage of what their audience wants.
